The Ecumenical Institute offers a hospitable environment for a diverse student body. To study at the Ecumenical Institute, you must apply for admission. We admit students into four categories of study depending on their goals.

  • Program candidates are students admitted as candidates for a specific degree (MACM or MAT) or certificate. (Typically students begin with explorations, visiting or auditor admission, then apply for admission to a program. But students with all admission requirements met are encouraged to apply directly for program admission.)
  • Explorations in Theology students are admitted to take graduate courses; many exploration students eventually apply for program admission and earn a degree or certificate.
  • Visiting students are enrolled in another school; they are admitted to take courses for transfer to their home school.
  • Auditors are admitted to learn from our outstanding faculty in graduate classes without earning graduate credit.
