The Associated Archives at St. Mary’s Seminary and University opened in the spring of 2002. Located on the campus of the nation’s first Roman Catholic seminary, this new program brings together the archives of the Archdiocese of Baltimore (est. 1789), St. Mary's Seminary and University (est. 1791), and the U.S. Province of the Society of St. Sulpice (est. 1921), making it one of the most significant repositories for records relating to the early history of the Catholic Church in the United States.
A state-of the-art-facility was built to house the three archives. We offer researchers a spacious reading room in a climate-controlled environment that has a reference library and a digital reader/printer for viewing our microfilm collections. Researchers are able to access the collections through the existing card catalog system and typed finding aids. Click here to read a description of our open collections.
