Consistent with our objective to safeguard individuals with whom students interact and to establish a uniform policy at St. Mary’s Seminary & University, St. Mary’s Ecumenical Institute requires criminal background reports on its students. All applicants must sign and return a Disclosure and Authorization to Release Information form (available here) that authorizes St. Mary’s to obtain a criminal background report. Any information that is received is strictly confidential. Any issues that arise because of the background checks are handled on a case-by-case basis by the Office of the Dean.
