Spirituality

The Certificate in Spirituality introduces students to the resources available for spiritual growth and for facilitating the spiritual formation of others. The program is intended for those interested in the study, practice, and/or transmission of spiritual traditions and practices.

Required courses include:

  • TH601 Introduction to Theological Study, Research & Writing
  • SP601 Foundations of Christian Spirituality

One of the following two courses:

  • SP605 Spiritual Disciplines
  • SP610 Spiritual Traditions for the Contemporary Church

One of the following three courses:

  • PT/SP602 Pastoral and Spiritual Care
  • SP720 Introduction to Spiritual Direction
  • SP725 Group Spiritual Direction

One of the following two courses:

  • RE/SP734 Faith Development through the Life Cycle
  • PT/SP780 Health, Disease, and Spirituality

One SP elective
